Over the years they have grown to become one of the industry leaders in the world of meat processing. In fact, in 2011 Forbes magazine ranked them as one of America’s largest private companies due to their significant annual revenue of $3 billion. At this point, the company is more than just a local phenomenon as it serves meat processing needs around the world.

The company continues to grow as just of this year they created a new production line in Toledo Spain that has doubled the capacity for the meat processing plant to produce chicken. This increased capacity for work production has created a surplus of jobs. Before the expansion, the meat processing plant produced around 12,000 tons of chicken annually. The plant now is capable of producing 45,000 tons of chicken each year.

The decision to expand the plant was made after careful research indicated that food consumption of chicken was increasing throughout the region. Over the last three years, the demand for chicken products is actually increased by over 8%. In order to meet this new demand, the company decided that expansion was necessary. The new addition to their plant has added 22,600 ft.² to their building. They did not just expand the company’s capacity for meat production but also included a number of other significant upgrades to the plant’s infrastructure during the process of expansion. Tyson chicken plant in Chicago was purchased by OSI food solutions in 2016 in order to expand its domestic production line.
